We host as many Maker programs as possible at our library, even without a dedicated maker space. My goal is to create a Maker culture that permeates the entire space- from the children’s library to the small study rooms, from the stacks to the community meeting room and all of the tables and cubbies in between!
Here are some of the Maker programs and resources I’ve mentioned:
DIY Virtual Reality Goggles for Teens
Hour of Code: Coding for Girls
LEGO at the Library!
Maker Books for Kids: Part 1 (Picture Books)
Maker Books: Part 2 (Fiction, Non-fiction & Biographies for kids under 12)
Maker Monday: Electricity
Maker Monday: Forces of Flight
Maker Monday: Wood Fired Pizza!
Passive Maker Programming (Snowflake Studio and DIY Project Boxes)
Maker Club: Microwave Mug Meals
